Two men have been jailed on felony offenses.
Denison police jailed Perrin Scott Pylant this weekend on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Denison police Lt. Mike Eppler said they were called out to a home in the 500 block of West Hull before midnight Friday. Witnesses told police the suspect, 40, of Denison, and another Denison man, 43, had been in a fight. During the fight, Pylant allegedly pulled a pocket knife and stabbed the victim in the neck, leaving the broken knife blade embedded. The suspect then fled, but police found him in the area and the arrest was made without problem. They recovered the pocket knife as evidence.
Denison EMS had the victim flown to a Dallas hospital for treatment. Eppler said his condition is unknown although believed stable. Pylant suffered some superficial injuries, but Eppler said medical attention wasn't requested or required.
Pylant remained incarcerated late Monday in lieu of $25,000 bail.
The investigation continues, Eppler said.
Sherman police made an arrest last week of a man accused of robbing a woman a week earlier while she sat inside her vehicle on the Walmart parking lot.
Sherman police Sgt. Bruce Dawsey said that on June 17, the victim was approached by a man brandishing a knife and demanding money. She complied and was unharmed.
Using surveillance video supplied by Walmart, which captured the incident, police identified the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.
Ronnie Capehart II, of Sherman, was jailed on a charge of aggravated robbery. The arrest was made at his home on East Lamar in Sherman. He posted $30,000 surety bonds the same day of his arrest.
